The Costliest Gift

This past Sunday, we had another youth-led serivce that was just phenomenal. hank you to those of you who played a part (that means you!) and thank you for leading us before God’s throne. I always feel so proud when I see the students in our church leading with their gifts and talents. Our students are so talented!
On Sunday, we also talked about Advent. As we prepare for Christmas, it is good for us to be reminded what it actually meant for God to send his Son into the world. It was certainly an incredibly joyful moment when Jesus was born; however, it meant that the suffering of Jesus had begun. Every moment that Jesus spent on earth was suffering, and then he experience the ultimate suffering: death on the cross and the full wrath of God. I can’t even imagine.
Christmas is such a great time of the year, and I love celebrating the joy that came into the world. Without Christmas, we wouldn’t have true joy. But our joy came at a price: the Son of God. Thanks be to God that he loved us so much that he didn’t spare his son!
Check out the video that I mentioned in the sermon this past week. This guy couldn’t do it, and neither could I!
