Spring Retreat Information

This weekend is our Spring Retreat for Middle School and High School! We will be camping at the Presbyterian Peninsula, right on the lake. Don’t worry…no previous camping experience required! The cost of the Retreat is $25.

We will be meeting at the church at 4:30 to load up the vehicles and depart for the Peninsula by 5:00 pm. Once there, we will unload and grab some grub (that is camp talk for “eat”). We will be at the Peninsula Friday and Saturday night, returning on Sunday morning for church. We plan to arrive at Redeemer on Sunday morning at 10 am.
Along with the $25, each person needs to fill out a permission slip and medical release form. Some may have already filled one out for a previous trip. If that is the case, you don’t have to fill out another one. Check with Mike to see if he has yours on file. Otherwise, you can download one by
clicking here (or you can click on “Downloads” at the top of this page). You can also download the Info Sheet which includes a list of what to bring, what not to bring, departure and return times, and the emergency contacts. Click here for the Info Sheet.

If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact Mike!

Taking a Break for the Master(s)

Wow, I can’t  believe that I’m about to do something this corny, so let me apologize in advance. You may be able to tell where I am going with this based on the title of this post…

First of all, we will be taking a break for youth group during Master’s Week, a.k.a. Spring Break.

High School Youth Group will NOT meet on Sunday night, April 3, 2011 nor on Sunday night, April 10, 2011.

Middle School Youth Group will NOT meet on Wednesday night, April 6, 2011.

Second, taking a break for the Master(s) has a spiritual component to it. It is good for us to take a break from our busy lives to simply spend time with the Master (I’m talking about God, just in case you were wondering). The writers of the gospels record Jesus doing this on several occasions, most often by himself so he could pray. So I would encourage you to make this break for Masters Week a week to take a break with the Master.

And I do apologize for being so corny… :)
